John Lawson
I’m a biomedical data scientist who applies bioinformatics and data science approaches to understand gene regulation. I received my PhD from the University of Virginia where I did research with Dr. Nathan Sheffield creating novel computational methods to understand gene regulation and applying them in the context of cancer epigenetics.
Consulting
I offer consulting services for bioinformatics, R programming, and data science. For more information, get in touch with me on Twitter.
Experience
Check out some of my work:
- COCOA: An R/Bioconductor package that uses covariation of epigenetic signals across individuals to annotate interindividual epigenetic variation
- MIRA: An R/Bioconductor package that aggregates DNA methylation in related loci across the genome to infer regulatory information
